Sunny Jam Records

Sunny Jam Records is an independent, artist-driven music production company dedicated to fostering diversity, equity and innovation in music production and creation. Founded in 2010 by 3 X Juno-nominated producer Alysha Brilla, Sunny Jam Records provides a creative and inclusive space for underrepresented voices in music - particularly women, non-binary artists, BIPOC and neurodiverse creators.
Through high-quality production, music as therapy, educational workshops and mentorship programs, we empower emerging artists and engineers to develop their craft, gain hands-on experience and access professional recording opportunities.
Our mission is to break barriers in the music industry by providing the tools, knowledge, and community support necessary to thrive.
Founder/CEO

Alysha Brilla is a Juno-nominated artist, producer and composer, and one of the first self-produced female artists in history to receive a Juno nomination for her debut album. As the CEO and founder of Sunny Jam Records, Brilla has spent over a decade championing diversity and equity in audio production, creating opportunities for diverse creators in the music industry.
Brilla’s passion for making music creation and production more accessible is shaped by her own experiences navigating a world not always designed for different ways of thinking and being, fueling her commitment to breaking down barriers in the creative process.
With a career spanning award-winning film composition, international touring, and high-profile music production, Brilla’s work has been recognized by the Canadian Screen Awards, SOCAN, and the European Commission’s Keychange Initiative. She has scored feature films, including the critically acclaimed "The Queen of My Dreams", and has produced for artists across genres, including Guatemalan-Canadian singer Paula Sofia.
Brilla is an entrepreneurial force in the music industry, receiving the Women in Music Canada Entrepreneur of the Year Honours and being selected for Music Publishers Canada’s Women In The Studio accelerator program. She also served as a professor of music production at Berklee College of Music, where she was the only female faculty in the department and an advisor for We Are Moving The Needle, an organization dedicated to gender parity in music tech.
At Sunny Jam Records, Brilla is expanding her impact with a mobile production initiative - bringing professional recording experiences to underserved communities. Her leadership in the industry continues to break barriers, proving that music production is for everyone, regardless of gender or background.
